In your hire car, take the scenic, one and a half hour drive to Tekapo, via the small town of Farlie where you may want to stop in at the famous “Farlie Bakehouse” and sample one of their legendary pies. Tekapo faces north across a remarkable turquoise lake to the drama of the Southern Alps. While you are here be sure to visit the Church of the Good Shepard for a photo opportunity or call in at the Hot Pools for a soothing dip. Continue on another 100kms for you first night at The Hermitage Hotel.

Day 2

Explore the valleys and peaks of Aoraki Mt Cook National Park by sky, flying over the Tasman Terminal Lake before landing on the beautiful ice of the Tasman Glacier. With exceptional views of the mountains and lakes right from take-off, you will be captivated throughout the entire flight. After your thrilling adventure, return to the luxury of your room or explore one of the many walking tracks in the area.

Days 3

Continuing south, through the breath-taking scenery, you will arrive at the famous wine region of New Zealand, Gibbston Valley, fondly known as “Valley of Vines”. Here you will be spending the night at the Gibbston Valley Lodge and Spa. With wine at the center of what they do, you are invited to join a complimentary wine tasting session in the evening at the main lodge.

Days 4 – 6

A short drive to Queenstown, but you will be stopping en route to experience the famous “Shotover Jet Boat” ride. Wall to wall pristine scenery and canyon action from the moment you leave the jetty. We recommend you visit the famous AJ Hackett Bungy Bridge where, if you are brave enough, you can choose to jump! Your stay in Queenstown is at the private and sophisticated Rees Hotel where you will spend the next 2 nights situated right on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. You will have time over to wander the shops, relax in your hotel or explore Queenstown’s vibrant cafe scene but one day trip not to be missed is the Fiordland National Park and Milford Sound. Regularly listed by Conde Nast and Trip Advisor as one of the top places in the world to visit, towering mountain landscapes and lush rainforest descend into the southern ocean to create huge fjords peppered with extra-ordinary waterfalls. Our price includes a day trip to Milford Sound from Queenstown and including a nature cruise.

Probably the best outfitted hunt I have ever been on. Beautiful lodge and property. The guides were top notch and extremely professional. The food was excellent and everybody in the organization was a pleasure to deal with. They all went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time.

“What an experience! Luke’s knowledge of the station we hunted and his consummate skills as a guide made for fantastic hunting.  We saw lots of game and two spectacular stags, one of which became mine. Thanks Luke and the Monarch staff for making my hunt of a lifetime happen. We will do this again!”
