SOUTH PACIFIC ELK
Monarch’s hunting grounds at Firey Peak Station offer some of the finest elk hunting experiences available. During the “bugle” season, the majestic bulls’ calls echo through the valleys, creating a magical atmosphere for hunters pursuing these magnificent animals.
Typical elk in this area are often 6×6 or 7×7, with main beams exceeding 50 inches. We are also fortunate to have a variety of non-typical elk.
New Zealand’s elk, or Wapiti, are unique to the South Pacific. They can interbreed with Red Deer, resulting in a distinctive sub-species. While they retain the appearance and vocalizations of traditional elk, they often boast numerous tines, sometimes upwards of 10 or 11 on each antler.
Monarch is dedicated to providing the ultimate outdoor experience and helping hunters achieve their goals. Our guides are exceptional hunters who take great care to ensure a top-quality hunt.
