Chris is a dedicated member of Monarch Pursuits, having joined the team in 2021. With a strong passion for the outdoors, Chris specializes in big game hunting, wildfowl shooting, and trout fishing. His unique background as a surgeon at Christchurch Hospital and a lecturer at the Christchurch School of Medicine enables him to blend precision and care in both his medical career and outfitting work.

Quintessential kiwi boy Lockie has extensive backcountry hunting knowledge having grown up roaming the mountains at any chance when not farming & fencing nearby. He loves showing off New Zealand & is always planning the next adventure!

Guide
Cal is a seasoned outdoorsman with a genuine love and appreciation for New Zealand's stunning mountains and rivers. Whether he's fly fishing for trout or quietly stalking stags and tahr, Cal enjoys every moment in nature. However, his true passion lies in sharing his experiences through the lens. As an avid cameraman with a sharp eye for detail, he has the talent to capture your dream hunt for everyone to see.

Humphrey brings a wealth of New Zealand hunting experience to Monarch, having been a shepherd all his working life as well as hunting in the New Zealand outback since he was a small child. Humphrey is the Monarch musician and the cause of many a singing and dancing session in the lodge after dinner!

I went to Monarch not knowing what to expect From stepping off the airplane I was meet with warmth and after arriving at the lodge it was like a homecoming. The team made hunting an incredible experience. Taking a SCI ranked stag was astounding.

My experience with the Team at Monarch Pursuits was exceptional. I am a 64 year old female and have a couple of health issues.  Luke took exceptional care to insure that I was successful in my hunt. The Gunwerks rifle they provided performed flawlessly.

I was so thrilled to be able to do this epic adventure at my age. The lodging was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The food could not have been better. Not to mention the superb New Zealand wines. So guess what. We are going back next year!
