In your hire car, take the scenic, one and a half hour drive to Tekapo, via the small town of Farlie where you may want to stop in at the famous “Farlie Bakehouse” and sample one of their legendary pies. Tekapo faces north across a remarkable turquoise lake to the drama of the Southern Alps. While you are here be sure to visit the Church of the Good Shepard for a photo opportunity or call in at the Hot Pools for a soothing dip. Continue on another 100kms for you first night at The Hermitage Hotel.

Explore the valleys and peaks of Aoraki Mt Cook National Park by sky, flying over the Tasman Terminal Lake before landing on the beautiful ice of the Tasman Glacier. With exceptional views of the mountains and lakes right from take-off, you will be captivated throughout the entire flight. After your thrilling adventure, return to the luxury of your room or explore one of the many walking tracks in the area.

Days 3

Continuing south, through the breath-taking scenery, you will arrive at the famous wine region of New Zealand, Gibbston Valley, fondly known as “Valley of Vines”. Here you will be spending the night at the Gibbston Valley Lodge and Spa. With wine at the center of what they do, you are invited to join a complimentary wine tasting session in the evening at the main lodge.

A short drive to Queenstown, but you will be stopping en route to experience the famous “Shotover Jet Boat” ride. Wall to wall pristine scenery and canyon action from the moment you leave the jetty. We recommend you visit the famous AJ Hackett Bungy Bridge where, if you are brave enough, you can choose to jump! Your stay in Queenstown is at the private and sophisticated Rees Hotel where you will spend the next 2 nights situated right on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. You will have time over to wander the shops, relax in your hotel or explore Queenstown’s vibrant cafe scene but one day trip not to be missed is the Fiordland National Park and Milford Sound. Monarch Pursuits, red stag hunting New Zealand

KATIE ELDRIDGE

My experience with the Team at Monarch Pursuits was exceptional. I am a 64 year old female and have a couple of health issues.  Luke took exceptional care to insure that I was successful in my hunt. The Gunwerks rifle they provided performed flawlessly.

I was so thrilled to be able to do this epic adventure at my age. The lodging was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The food could not have been better. Not to mention the superb New Zealand wines. So guess what. We are going back next year!
