Based in and around the incredible Southern Lakes resorts of Queenstown and Wanaka heli-skiing in some of New Zealand's best terrain and dining (and even partying) the night away in the luxury resorts.

8 Days Southern Lakes
New Zealand Heli-Ski Safari

Your next 8 days days are going to be spectacular - wake up for a sumptuous breakfast, don't hurry because your professional ski guide and helicopter picks you up right outside your front door. Then it is high up into the Southern Alps for a day of first tracks, a divine on-snow lunch (of course with a beer and a few glasses of bubbles) and as many after lunch leg burners as you can handle. The guide and helicopter are at your personal disposal, so push yourself for as many runs as you wish.

Once we are back at our luxury lodge you can cap off an amazing day by soaking in the spa, or refuelling the legs with a mulled-wine or single malt at the bar in in front of the fire.   Dine the evening away with incredibly prepared meals from our world renowned Chefs before crawling in to bed ready to do it all again.

Divide your time between our remote lodges in Wanaka where you can rest, relax, unwind and ski till you drop; and our in-town lodges in the bustling international resort of Queenstown where you can wine, dine and dance (if your heart desires) the night away. Mind you we think the skiing is so good dancing on those weary legs might be a bit more of a challenge.

In the event of bad weather your Monarch Team have a raft of activities planned from wilderness jet boating, wine-tasting, unique lunch excursions, and 4WD adventures.

Heli-skiing Wanaka

Commencing from Queenstown, you will shuttle to Wanaka in a private helicopter transfer, taking a moment to admire the sweeping vistas of the Southern Lakes and further afield to the Southern Alps, from above. For the next three or four nights you will be based in either the luxurious Mahu Whenua Lodge or high up in the mountains on Minaret Station. Both are amazing locations set amongst epic backdrops of snow capped mountains and deep valley floors.

From Wanaka it is easy to access the perfect back country terrain where you ski many vertical meters on unlimited heli-Ski flights, under the highest safety standards than in any other location in the Southern Hemisphere. Our local Guides are chosen for their knowledge and experience and their overriding passion to share these epic experiences with you.

For lunch dine on a beautifully crafted picnic and refresh with a local craft beer or Central Otago wine - just enough to keep you engaged and moving so that you'll make the most of your afternoon.

Both of our luxury lodges have après ski facilities such as invigorating saunas and relaxing spas, well appointed lounges and bars with views worthy of many photos and attentive yet discreet staff ready to assist you in any way.

Heli-Skiing Queenstown

Queenstown is an Alpine Resort town situated on the shores of Lake Wakatipu with easy access via helicopter to a vast number of local mountain ranges including Hector, Eyre, Thompson, Humboldt & South Harris Mountains and the Whaakari Conservation Area (and more...) - literally 1000's of hectares of skiable runs.  The extensive terrain allows for anyone to ski or board from intermediate to expert, from new to seasoned powder hunter.

You can also expect to ski a variety of terrain types, from open faces to gully's and chutes, bowels to drops. There is something to suit every level of skier on vast open treeless peaks. The view will be spectacular irrespective of location! With a focus on maximising your time on the snow, we use trusted professional heli-ski partners with helipad access to a full variety of locations, so variable weather can be negated with a move to another site, and the run options on powder days are extensive!

By night Queenstown comes alive to the sounds of a bustling resort town.  There are many dining options in Queenstown from Pacific to Asian, South American to Italian and we would be delighted to recommend our favourites.  Queenstown is as famous for its fine dining as it is for its day time adventure activities.

For those not inclined to hit the back country or in the event of bad weather days, you have the option of staying in town and being a tourist for the day, or having an adventure day with any one of the amazing adventure activities we have on offer include 4WD adventures, wilderness jet boat safaris and of course our favourite activity of them all - wine tasting the incredible local Pinot Noir.

Yes! The skiing is amazing - but so are our lodge bases. Soaking away the tired legs in the jacuzzi.
